Backman does have a talent for character and dialogue, and the supporting cast of characters carry the book. The ending is 'meh', and all in all it was not a book I  

In Britt-Marie was here we learn about Britt-Marie, her fears, her skills and more about her peculiarities. I found the book fascinating and was so hoping that, in fairy tale style, everyone would have a happy ending. BRITT-MARIE WAS HERE (Britt-Marie Var Har) is a Swedish drama/comedy based on Backman’s bestseller of the same name, about a 63-year-old woman who takes a job as a youth soccer coach in a little town, even though she knows nothing about the sport. The success of A MAN CALLED OVE set a pretty high bar for this film. Contains some lurid passages, or presents a general ideological framework that could confuse those without much Christian formation.
